Biography
Early life
Ajey Nagar was born in Faridabad, Haryana, and went to Delhi Public School, Faridabad. He started posting football tutorials on YouTube at the age of ten. He dropped out of school before his Class XII board exams to concentrate on YouTube, later completing his schooling through distance learning. His elder brother Yash, a music producer, collaborates with him as Wily Frenzy.
From gaming to roasting
His main channel began in 2014 as AddictedA1, with gaming videos and reactions. In 2015 he renamed it CarryDeol and posted Counter-Strike gameplay while imitating actor Sunny Deol, before settling on CarryMinati. Fast-paced Hindi roasts of online trends, made from his home in Faridabad, built a huge young audience. In 2017 he started CarryisLive for gaming live streams.
Fundraising
He has used live streams to raise money for victims of the 2018 Kerala floods, Cyclone Fani, floods in Assam and Bihar, the families of soldiers killed in the 2019 Pulwama attack, and Covid-19 relief.
Music and wider career
Beyond roasts and gaming, Nagar has released several rap and diss tracks produced with his brother, including “Yalgaar” and “Trigger”. He has appeared in television commercials and made a cameo in the Hindi film Runway 34 (2022). His popularity among teenagers has made him one of the most influential figures in Indian internet culture, though his combative humour has also drawn criticism.

In May 2020 his video “YouTube vs TikTok: The End” became one of the most-liked videos in India before YouTube removed it for violating its harassment policy; his follow-up rap “Yalgaar” became a major hit. He became the first Indian YouTuber to pass 30 million subscribers in May 2021 and 40 million in August 2023. Time named him a Next Generation Leader in 2019.
